In my role as bartender to the League of S.T.E.A.M. I am called upon to mix up various beverages for my friends and companions. This is the inaugural episode in a new feature where I will bring you a new cocktail every week. Enjoy!
Seeing as how this is Dia de los Muertos, when the dead walk among the living, and on the assumption that more than a few of you had more than a few libations last night, I've chosen the Corpse Reviver #2 as this week's cocktail.
This cocktail is part of a group of "Corpse Revivors", cocktails to enjoy the morning after as a hangover palliative. Like many cocktail aficionados, this variation is my favorite. You'll need the following:
- 1 oz gin
- 1 oz Cointreau
- 1 oz Lillet Blanc
- 1 oz lemon juice
- 1-3 drops Absinthe or pastis (like Pernod or Herbsaint)
You'll want to shake these in an iced cocktail shaker and strain into a cocktail glass, the garnish is a stemless cherry dropped into the bottom of the glass.
