Your bartender offers his humble apologies for skipping a week. I offer only overindulgence in Thanksgiving faire as an excuse. The Stinger cocktail and yours truly are of recent acquaintance. It was introduced to me in the opening chapters of Boozehound by Jason Wilson. Needless to say, I've become quite fond of them! Allow me to introduce the two of you:

  • 1 1/2 ounce Brandy (some prefer cognac)
  • 1/2 ounce white Crème de Menthe (if you use green, that will yield you a "Green Hornet")

Shake in an iced cocktail and strain into a cocktail glass. A variation is served on the rocks in an old fashioned glass. I take it either way.

An additional note, this is a "Duo" cocktail. Defined as a cocktail made by mixing a spirit and a liqueur. As always, enjoy!
